November: Rotary Foundation month
November is Rotary Foundation Month.

The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

While the majority of expenditures support Rotary's mission to eradicate polio through support of the PolioPlus program, Foundation monies also go toward global and district grants to support Rotary's other focus areas: promoting peace, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and fighting disease.

Nominate NMM Youth for Spirit of YOuth Award

The No More Mat-Su Adult Advisors, many of whom are Wasilla Sunrise Rotarians, are nominating the local teens on the No More Mat-Su Youth Committee for this year's Spirit of Youth Award -- an award created to promote and recognize youth involvement in communities across Alaska.

NMM has an Interim Board, committees, and members at-large made up of Mat-Su high school students who are taking up the cause of working to end domestic violence and sexual assault in the Mat-Su.
