this week
Diane Fejes

Join us as we welcome Diane Fejes, District 5010 District Governer.

After growing up on a cattle and wheat ranch in southern Idaho, Diane graduated from Utah State University before moving to Alaska in 1978 and becoming a CPA. She worked as a Tax Partner with firms Deloitte and KPMG before retiring in 2011.

Diane & her husband, Bob, live in Anchorage where they raised their two intelligent, beautiful, and fun daughters, Anna & Erin. They enjoy the Alaskan lifestyle, which includes flying to their remote cabin in the summer and winter trips to Hawaii.

Diane has been a Rotarian since 1989 with the Anchorage Rotary Club and has served in many capacities throughout her tenure. She believes that the business-oriented, non-religious, non-political aspect of Rotary allows us to succeed in being the pre-eminent, worldwide organization to bring health, literacy, peace, and prosperity to the world.

WSRC welcomes Arnaud

Wasilla Sunrise Rotary welcomes our 2018-19 Rotary Exchange Student, Arnaud Bollen, from Belgium!

He, along with two other Rotary Exchange Students have already jumped in feet first to the Alaska life with a hike at Thunderbird Falls.

We look forward to getting to know Arnaud and sharing our favorite parts of Alaska with him.

No More Mat-Su Youth presentation

Two of No More Mat-Su's youth leaders, Madeline Emmi and Lucas Adams, presented to their peers at the Thrive Mat-Su Youth Retreat.

The retreat, hosted by United Way of Mat-Su, was three days focused on equipping Mat-Su middle and high school students with new tools and skills to be of service in their schools and communities.

Emmi and Adams shared about the prevalence of domestic violence and sexual assault in the Valley, the work of No More Mat-Su, and why they have chosen to invest their time. Many youth were excited to find ways that they can get involved with the campaign. Stay tuned for more updates!

Build Them Up!

Last week's speaker, Mrs. Alaska Leticia Wade, came to share her platform - Build Them Up - with Wasilla Sunrise Rotary.

From her passion of supporting our youth and her knowledge of the value of extracurriculars, Wade is starting a scholarship fund to ensure that no child is unable to participate in what they love due to financial hardship.

Thank you, Leticia, for working to make our youth and community more resilient!
