Any job very well done that has been carried out by a person who is fully dedicated is always a source of inspiration.

Dear Wasilla Sunrise Rotarians (Aaarrrgggg!):

The “passing the gavel” dinner was too much fun yesterday evening.   Trish made the event so very fun with all she did.

Please know that in my opinion, past president Norm, did an outstanding job for the Club.   I appreciated his leadership and hope to continue the string of success for the Club.

Jerry sang me a song last night something about a “plan.”  Up until this morning, other than having all the Club officers in place, I had no plan.   But now, here is the first chapter….    Like the Alaskan tradition of trying to cram as much stuff into our summers as possible, our Rotary Club is no different.  In the next three months we will have:  a new exchange student, July 4th hot dog fest” for the City, Gallons for Giving raffle, Rotary district governor visit, fireside at Bushnell’s, build a new $50,000 inclusive playground at Newcomb Park and have the VPA annual fundraiser on Sept. 28th.   Dang – busy!  The fourth quarter of the calendar year should be more relaxed.   So please fire-up your best Rotary volunteer efforts and let’s go…

On Tuesday, July 2nd, Greg will discuss the most significant community service project our Club has done – the inclusive playground.   Carol will roll out the details for the hugely successful “Gallons for Giving” raffle.   Please come to my first meeting as your prezzzz and hear more details of the game plan.   There will be a meeting of your Rotary Club’s board immediately following the bell at 7:58 am.  Your board is:  Greg, Carol, Janet, Debbie, Annie, Ken, Norm and me.

I wish to have a classification talk and briefing from past presidents (memoirs) at the last meeting of each month.   Board meetings will continue be the first Tuesday of the month.

Your input please:  We are moving the Club to either the Prudential Building community room on Seward Meridian  ( 865 N Seward Meridian Pkwy Wasilla, AK 99654) or Valley Board of Realtors education room (741 E Susitna Ave  Wasilla, AK 99654).  A committee of your board has selected these two locations as we are being evicted from the Regan Building, our home for the past several years.  :(    The positive element is that either new location will be superior to the existing meeting logistics.  Please send me your vote (email, text or call) for either the VBR or Prudential location.  Shall we move now or Oct. 1st?   Please provide me any other input to help us make our Rotary Club the very best we can.   I’m fairly good at taking advice, right Honey?

Thanks again, Dan, new president Wasilla Sunrise Rotary http://www.wasillasunriserotary.com
